Doug Chesnut and Tom Bakewell founded StreetLights Residential on a single conviction: design should lead development, not follow it. From their first office in Dallas, they set out to build places that make cities better over time, where architecture, craftsmanship, and the feeling of home matter as much as the address.

That belief still anchors every decision. It shaped the company's first high-rise, The Taylor, and it continues to guide each property we carry from raw land to finished home.

Early on, StreetLights brought its most value-critical disciplines in-house: architecture, construction, interior design, fabrication, and branding. Rather than coordinate across outside firms, one team carries each project from acquisition to delivery, holding the original intent intact at every step.
